Track&Field is more than just show casing skills in running, jumping, and/or other events. It teaches athletes to set goals for themselves to not only meet, but to exceed it -- pushing themselves to be the best they can be. Our dedicated volunteer coaches will teach all athletes proper form, techniques, and strategies to having the best outcome in their event. Through training and competitive events, athletes will gain confidence, knowledge, skill, and discipline all while learning to enjoy the sport.

What is included in the registration cost?
Each athlete will receive an AAU athlete membership, a uniform, and participate in 5 track meets (including the district qualifier). Each athlete will have the opportunity to participate up to 3 events each track meet per AAU regulations. Registration cost will also assist in covering entry fees for coaches as well.

Date: First Practice will be March 4th, 2025
- Every Tuesday and Thursday
Starting March 31st, we will switch gears to 3 practices week

Why are the Invaders starting a Track&Field team?
Going back to our mission statement, we strive to provide an affordable sports program to the youth of our community. Track&Field is a new opportunity we want to provide to the youth of our community -- taking their skills off the field and cheer to bring onto the track.
What is an AAU athlete membership?
AAU stand for "Amateur Athletic Union" and was established in 1888. AAU is one of the largest non-profit multi-sports organization. All athletes who will be participating in AAU events is required to have a membership -- including the track&field events we will register for.
Do I need to choose an event for my child to participate in?
The event, in which your athlete participates in, will be determined by the evaluating coaches. We strive to place every athlete in an event aligned with their strengths. If an athlete expresses interest in an event that may not align with their strengths, we are willing to work with them in that event as well.
**Reminder: Each athlete can participate in up to 3 events per AAU regulations**
How long is the season?
The first practice will be March 4th, 2025 with potential of the first track meet being in late April. The district qualifier is tentatively in June, followed by the regional meet if your athlete qualifies. Then, your athlete could qualify for the AAU Junior Olympics, if they qualify, which takes place in August.
**We will release a schedule for the Invaders 2025 season once we know which track meets we are going to be registered for**
Other Information
Registration cost does not include registration for the regional meet and the AAU Junior Olympics. If your athlete qualifies for either meet at that time, it can be an additional cost to register your athlete for the meet. However, if you cannot pay for the additional cost, we can work together to ensure your athlete participates in the meet. Our goal is to help ALL ATHLETES gain a positive experience and reap ALL REWARDS for the work they put into themselves in practices.
All dedicated volunteer coaches are registered with an AAU Non-athlete membership. Through this membership, volunteers will receive a background check and training for certification.
